A quick guide to passing a CLP motion

Across the country LPV activists are submitting motions to give us the best chance of securing a final say on Brexit. We have two CLP motions - one calling for a special conference, and one calling for the party to support a public vote, and a Remain and Reform agenda in the coming referendum campaign.

Don't worry! You don't need to be an expert on Labour Party governance. Below I've set out everything you need to do:

1) Take a look at the motions for a special conference and calling for a public vote.

2) Find a like-minded person in your local CLP or branch and ask them to be a seconder for your motion. You can then submit these motions to your CLP secretary via email. You'll find their details on your Labour party membership card.

3) Once you've submitted your motion, let us know here. We can put you in touch with your LPV Regional Organiser to guide you through the process or you can read our guide here

4) You should hear back from your CLP/branch secretary to let you know when your motion is being discussed. You'll have a chance to speak about your motion at the meeting.

It's a simple as that!

P.S. Already submitted your motion? Let us know by filling in this survey. It means we can give you a helping hand with getting it passed!
