How to propose a CLP motion
Labour is a democratic movement. As members we have a right and duty to put forward a vision to beat Tory Brexit and win a radical Labour government.
More than 100 CLPs put forward motions to Labour conference this year. Your CLP can still pass a ‘normal motion’ using the guide below:
To submit the Normal Motion for CLPs
There are 3 ways you can submit a motion to your CLP:
If your CLP has meetings of all members (i.e. without delegates), you can submit it directly to your CLP secretary. You should be receiving emails from them already.
If your CLP has a General Committee and meets in wards/branches, you will normally need to submit it to your ward/branch secretary. You should be receiving emails from them already. However, you may be able to get the motion straight to a CLP meeting - so you should send it to your CLP secretary as well.
Affiliated unions and socialist societies can always submit motions to CLPs directly – check with your trade union or society.
